It’s not always easy to encourage children to go out for walks. These days there are just so many more tempting options indoors.
LET ME HELP YOU KEEP YOUR CHILDREN HAPPY AND ENGAGED ON A WALK
Inspired by a good friend of mine, I am creating activity sheets for each of the walks in my forthcoming book. These sheets will be suitable for children aged between 5 and 10 years. You will be able to download, print, or use them as an online reference. They will encourage children to keep busy on a walk by recording what they see, answering questions and solving puzzles.
BUDDY UP AND WORK AS A TEAM
The activities will be simple enough for older children to do on their own, but I think many children will enjoy completing them with help from parents, siblings, and friends. Working together as a team brings a sense of purpose to a walk and helps young children learn valuable life skills.
SHARE YOUR RESULTS, AND YOUR IDEAS
The idea is to do as much as possible to help children enjoy being outdoors, integrating their world with the outside world. I encourage you to share your experiences and your ideas on the FINDING FOOTPATHS FACEBOOK PAGE. I want to build a community resource that helps you to enjoy being outdoors with your children and I really look forward to hearing your success stories.
